New concepts for 2019 and beyond
Over the years we have seen some amazing concepts come through our doors.
“Mergers and acquisitions are on the rise with new and or struggling brands being acquired by the more savvy and experienced corporations ”
Creativity and design
New ideas using materials and colors is one key to the commercial success of a restaurant concept. The look and feel of the concept is just as important as the taste of the food. New concepts developed by an individual has a short lifespan to either grow the concept or be destroyed by corporate competitors. Mergers and acquisitions are on the rise with new and or struggling brands being acquired by the more savvy and experienced corporations.
I've seen several great concepts that sold their rights to a larger corporation before going national or seeing the fruits of success of their concept. One local concept we represented had 35 store locations in several states and after being acquired by a large corporation the majority of the stores had closed. My advice would be to seriously look at the concept and focus on what you do best, if your skill is cooking or coming up with new receipts than stick with that, ask for help with the design and take your concept to a new level.
For 2019 and beyond, I've noticed a trend in both smaller boutique concepts like Poke as well as burger concepts with a focus on craft beers.
